Our Privacy Pledge

AmCOMP believes that our customer’s information should be respected and protected. We are committed to protecting your information for use only as appropriate to provide you with the best possible products and services. This privacy policy describes our information practices and policies. It applies to our relationship with our current and former customers who inquire about or obtain products or services from us in the administration of workers’ compensation insurance coverage. If our privacy practices change, we will send you a revised Privacy Policy notice if you still have an in-force policy or active claim with us.

AmCOMP Subsidiaries and Affiliates

This privacy policy applies to and is provided on behalf of all of the AmCOMP Subsidiaries and Affiliates. These companies are solely workers’ compensation insurance carriers or companies that support the business operation of the insurance carriers:

  • AmCOMP Assurance Corporation
  • AmCOMP Preferred Insurance Company
  • Pinnacle Administrative Company
  • Pinnacle Benefits, Inc.

In order to provide our products and services, we may collect information about you or your employees from a variety of sources, including:

  • information that comes from you, our policyholders, during the application process
  • information that comes from you, regarding claimants
  • information about you from our affiliates, your independent insurance agent, governmental entities, consumer reporting agencies and other sources
  • a medical professional that has treated your employees

The type of information we collect depends on the product or service requested, but may include:

  • credit history
  • claims history
  • information concerning your previous insurance policies
  • information to properly investigate and resolve claims
  • health information

Sharing Information We Collect

We do not disclose or sell your information. We do not disclose your information to third parties that are not affiliated with us, except as permitted by law. For this reason, no “opt-out” is required. If we share information about you with third parties without your specific authorization, it is to provide you with products and services that you request or expect from us, and as otherwise permitted by law.

  • investigate and pay claims
  • comply with state and federal regulatory requests or demands
  • process other transactions that you request

To whom we make such disclosures depends on the product or service requested which may include but is not limited to:

  • your independent insurance agent
  • insurance regulators
  • reinsurance companies
  • consumer-reporting agencies
  • the Medical Information Bureau
  • insurance adjusters
  • medical providers
  • data reporting/collection services as required by law

Sharing Information Within Our Company

We may share information, within our company, relating to our experiences and transactions with you. This information may include your premium payment, claims history or specific insurance coverage information. We share this information only to provide you with the best possible service.

Safeguarding Your Information

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with applicable state and federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

Access To And Correction Of Your Information

You have the right to access the information we collect about you in connection with your insurance transactions with us. If you believe that any of the information is in error, you have the right to request us to correct it.
