When It Comes to Loss Prevention, Little Things Matter
An AmCOMP loss prevention
supervisor recently visited a policyholder’s work site. In part, here’s what she had to say
in her follow-up email to our insured, Kahn Venture:
"The new warehouse is awesome! I had the opportunity to walk the warehouse with Nelson
(Kahn Venture employee) this week, before it gets filled up and we looked at the evacuation routes,
a couple of safety preventative opportunities, etc. Recently I had the opportunity to do
training with the sales force and hopefully we prevented a potential back strain as they begin the
big move today. I am very pleased with the safety culture developing in this location and the
willingness of Nelson to pick up the phone and ask for help.
"The future plan is to do some sales evaluations out where the rubber meets the road so to
speak. This will be late April or early May as there will be some retraining issues with the
new building.
"I also wanted to follow up on where we are with the steel toed shoe policy. Please
give me an update on this issue. Let me know if I can offer any other assistance at this time," she
concluded.
To which Ted Zitelli, a Kahn Venture executive, replied:
"We have never had this type of support and assistance from any other insurance
carrier. Thank you."
Safety is a conscious choice. At AmCOMP we choose to do business with employers, like
Kahn Venture, who are concerned about the safety and well-being of their employees. We
emphasize accident prevention through education. Your history of claims is one of the key
factors in determining the cost of your workers’ compensation insurance so the best way to save
money on your coverage is to avoid accidents in the first place. Listening to and taking
actions recommended by our loss prevention consultants can help you save money AND make your
employees safer.
